Goodbye, My Friend

Fare thee well, nerds

Guys, it's weird. I know it's ridiculous to get emotional about a television show--a comedy, no less--coming to its natural end. But "30 Rock" has had such a huge impact on my life and I just simply can't help but feel a little teary whenever I realize that tonight is the last time I'll ever see a new Liz Lemon adventure. (I know, I know. This is one of the many reasons why I'm single). There are far too many reasons to list here, but these are just a few reasons why I'll miss you, "30 Rock."

Tina Fey: Spirit Animal

I know Fey isn't going anywhere. I know that she's hard at work filming new movies, winning awards, and yes, even trying to make Mean Girls: The Musical happen (praise the lord). But, one or three movies a year just can't compete with a new, genius episode each week.

Donaghy + Lemon 4Eva

And so began one of the greatest television friendships of all time. Intermittently, they've been bros and nemeses, they've gotten business drunk together and shared invaluable fashion tips with one another. Their relationship is hard to describe (they are technically exes), but they've seen each other through so much (and learned quite a bit from each other) and no one's heart swelled more than my stone cold one at this moment.

Kenneth, Actually Forever

Kenneth Ellen Parcel is a genius character. He's a chinless, apple-faced goon/hayseed--whose body "is just a flesh vessel for an immortal being whose name, if you heard it, would make you lose your mind." It's a hilarious bit of continuity, and if you look close enough (as I have...) you'll see recurring hints as to his immortality throughout all seven seasons.

Hey, Dummy

Dennis Duffy is one of the greatest terrible characters to ever exist. If you do not agree with that statement, you are just wrong.

Jury Duty, Defeated

And thus, a way to beat the system was born.

Oscar Dress Wishlist

Best Actress

Jessica Chastain
Jessica Chastain as Maya in "Zero Dark Thirty"
Jess here is a wild card. One day she'll look absolutely gorgeous and glamorous, then the next she'll look a rumpled mess and/or like a Plain Jane. But when she brings it, she ba-rings it. She usually favors classic silhouettes with unexpected details, from designers like Alexander McQueen, Calvin Klein and Gucci.

Andrew Gn - We know she can pull off belted, pocketed looks, plus this cobalt color looks excellent on redheads.

Monique Lhuillier - One of my favorite collections of the year, this Monique gown fits her sleek aesthetic.

Armani Prive - Just the right amount of sparkle.

Armani Prive - We know she loves pale colors.

L'Wren Scott - How incredible would this look on the statuesque Chastain?

Oscar de la Renta - COLORS! VIBRANCY! God I would pay good money to see her in this.

Jennifer Lawrence
Jennifer Lawrence as Tiffany in "Silver Linings Playbook"
The girl on fire is both a Dior brand ambassador and a person who tends to look AMAZING in Prabal Gurung. And, well, in pretty much anything. She's already worn two pieces from Prab's (I can call him that--we met and talked about Oprah once.) Pre-Fall 2013 line, and while it might be overkill, I just really hope he makes her something special. She's also worn Dior (to mixed reviews). I wouldn't hate seeing this risk-taker in any of the below:
Badgley Mischka - Ok. This is so not her aesthetic, but this is MY wishlist and I love her and I love this dress. I could also see Anne Hathaway in this guy.
Naeem Khan - Simple, gorgeous color. Some dangly earrings and a statement bracelet? Game over, bra.

Reem Acra - We know she can pull off sexy cut outs.

Marchesa - Pretty sure she's only worn Marchesa once (to great acclaim) would love to see her rock one of their less-insane designs again.

Proenza Schouler - Because a.) she can pull off a little bit of edge and b.) this has just enough warrior-woman power to do Katniss proud.

Reem Acra - Red + J.Law = Glory.

Naomi Watts
Naomi Watts as Maria in "The Impossible"

So far this awards season she has worn Alexander McQueen (to an event which totally didn't warrant McQueen, but whatever), Emilio Pucci, Zac Posen and Roland Mouret. While I think know that she is perfection (and a totally awesome actress), I pretty much only pay attention when she's on the arm of her husband, Official Dream Boat Liev Schreiber. Ugh. These people are too gorgeous.

Gucci - How divine would this color look on her? The sleeves would have to be adjusted, but I actually like the frilliness.

Badgley Mischka - The Art Deco pattern of this gown would go great--especially if she wore her hair like this.

Naeem Khan - Well, we know she looks good in gold.

Monique Lhuillier - This seafoam confection would bring out her gorgeous baby blues.

Armani Prive - This plunging neckline, in a gorgeous color seems right up Naomi's alley.

Zac Posen - No one rocks Zac Posen like this lady does.

Quvenzhané Wallis
Quvenzhané Wallis as Hush Puppy in "Beasts of The Southern Wild"
I love her, she's nine. Who even CARES who she wears? I just hope she takes a page out of the Kiernan Shipka book and goes high-end/age-appropriate/baller and picks one of these Oscar de la Rentas:

This is my favorite for her--she's already told Andre Leon Talley that pink is her favorite color, plus how great would this look with a puppy bag?

Ice blue could look great too, though.

Well, she is nine. She'll only be able to pull off crazy prints without reproach for so long.

Thinking pink!

Coral is pink, right?

Emmanuelle Riva

Same sentiment, except she's 85. Wear a Snuggie, lady. PLEASE!

Supporting Actress

Amy Adams
Amy Adams as Peggy in "The Master"
Nominated for her role in a film in which she stuck to rather matronly get-ups, I really hope to see her in something that will complement her strawberry blonde locks and bright blue eyes.

Badgley Mischka - Would love to see her in a dainty peplumed pink like this gown.

Oscar de la Renta - One of the few mullet dresses I can get behind.
Badgley Mischka - Ice blue for an ice queen. Trust--this gown is stunning in person (#backdoorbrag).

Andrew Gn - With some emerald jewelry? Yes, please.

Carolina Herrera - Herrera is a favorite of Adams'.

Oscar de la Renta - With the stripes and pockets, this reminds me of that Carolina Herrera that she wore to the 2006 Oscars.

Sally Field
Sally Field as Mary Todd Lincoln in "Lincoln"
For a woman of 66, Ms. Field has got a rockin' body. I loved the Alberta Ferretti that she wore to the Golden Globes, but she tends to favor darker shades. I would just absolutely love to see her in something bright and attention-grabbing. Por ejemplo:

Naeem Khan - Bright pink would make this fabulous actress stand out/

Monique Lhuillier - Yes. Yup. Wear this. Please.

Helen Hunt

Helen Hunt as Cheryl in "The Sessions"

Like Field, Hunt has a rockin' body. She's not afraid to show it off in solid, bold colors with contrasting details. I'd love to see her in something a little daring, though who am I kidding? The woman will wear Michael Kors and that will be that.
Jenny Packham - Wear this, style it this way. Bye.
Jenny Packham - White hot, waist-whittling glamour.

Emilio Pucci - She loves red (and it was a big trend on the GG carpets/runways) and this Pucci is right up her alley.

Badgley Mischka - Well, hello cleavage.

Jacki Weaver
Jacki Weaver as Dolores in "Silver Linings Playbook"

This pint-sized Aussie Tends to favor waist-defining gowns. Her green gown from the Golden Globes made her look a biiiiit like a leprechaun, so I'm hoping she tries out something a little more muted.

Armani Prive - This would be an interesting risk for the actress.

Anne Hathaway
Anne Hathaway as Fantine in "Les Miserables"

Snagged a nomination for Best Supporting. Even though her Golden Globes gown was a bit Snoozeville, she's been taking a lot of style risks lately (see: her Tom Ford look from the NYC "Les Miserables" premiere). I'm hoping that she continues with the risky business. I would DIEEE to see her in a particular show-stopping Marchesa, even though I know she'll definitely wear something custom and couture.
Naeem Khan - Not necessarily risky, but gorgeous, nonetheless.

Jenny Packham - Again, not a risky bet, but it is gorgeous, and she does love a nice white gown.

Ralph Lauren - I love that it emulates her bat-winged Givenchy from the London "Les Mis" premiere.
Naeem Khan - Feathers galore.
Marchesa- In the words of Hathaway's dear friend and stylist, Rachel Zoe, "I die."
